The residue monitoring and food hygiene program aims to support member countries in fulfilling and developing their plans for:
Residue monitoring, including pesticide residues, pharmaceuticals and veterinary drugs, heavy metals, and mycotoxins.
Food hygiene, including measures for the prevention, reduction, or elimination of pathogenic microorganisms (Salmonella, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Listeria, Vibrio cholerae, viruses, parasites, prions).
Strengthening the analytical capacity of food safety laboratories through the implementation of the principles of ISO/IEC 17015:2017.
Strengthening the capacities of competent authorities for inspecting and auditing food safety systems.
