Residue Monitoring and Food Hygiene
The residue monitoring and food hygiene program aims to support member countries in fulfilling and developing their plans for:
- Residue monitoring, including pesticide residues, pharmaceuticals and veterinary drugs, heavy metals, and mycotoxins.
- Food hygiene, including measures for the prevention, reduction, or elimination of pathogenic microorganisms (Salmonella, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Listeria, Vibrio cholerae, viruses, parasites, prions).
- Strengthening the analytical capacity of food safety laboratories through the implementation of the principles of ISO/IEC 17015:2017.
- Strengthening the capacities of competent authorities for inspecting and auditing food safety systems.
- Strengthening antimicrobial resistance programs.
